INFORMATION FOR AUDITIONERS:
All roles are for adult-aged actors. Roles are open and unpaid. EVERYONE is welcome.
Please bring a headshot/resume (if you have one) as well as a prepared list of your conflicts during the rehearsal period.
CAST OF CHARACTERS
Abby Brewster (F)
A darling lady in her sixties who poisons elderly men.
Martha Brewster (F)
A sweet elderly woman with Victorian charm who poisons elderly men.
Mr. Gibbs (M)
An elderly man who wishes to rent a room from the Brewster sisters.
Mortimer Brewster (M)
Abby and Martha’s nephew, a drama critic who is engaged to Elaine Harper. He is a nice young man who cares for his aunts.
The Rev. Dr. Harper (M)
Local Minister and friend of the Brewster family.
Elaine Harper (F)
An attractive girl in her twenties and Mortimer’s fiancee, Elaine is the daughter of the Rev. Dr. Harper. She is surprisingly wise in the ways of the world for a minister’s daughter.
Teddy Brewster (M)
Another nephew of Abby and Martha Brewster.
Teddy is a man in his forties who thinks that he is Theodore Roosevelt.
Jonathan Brewster (M)
One more nephew of Abby and Martha Brewster.
Jonathan is a psychopath who has had plastic surgery and now looks like Boris Karloff. (Boris Karloff played Jonathan in the original Broadway production.)
Dr. Einstein (F/M)
A plastic surgeon and an alcoholic who is in his fifties. Dr. Einstein has changed Jonathan’s face three times.
Officer Brophy (F/M)
A police officer
Officer Klein (F/M)
A police officer
Officer O’Hara (F/M)
A police officer, O’Hara is a would-be playwright who pesters Mortimer to read his play.
Lieutenant Roony (F/M)
A tough and dominating police officer
Mr. Witherspoon (M)
The superintendent of Happy Dale Sanitarium
