Godspell -- Audition Announcement
Additional Audition for Godspell, Jan 8, 2022 @1:00-2:00pm
Due to the snow canceling the first night of audition as well anticipated Thursday night snow event, the Sandy Spring Theatre Group is opening auditions for one last time on this coming Saturday (January 8, 2022) between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
However, if you want to audition on Saturday afternoon

Update: Video Auditions
Owing to the increasing number of people currently under quarantine as a result of COVID infection or known exposure,
as well the anticipated weather event this coming Monday, (01/04/2022), SSTG will be accepting video auditions for Godspell:
Auditions must be submitted by midnight, Wednesday, January 5, 2022
Video auditions should include:
(1) A brief self introduction including: your name, the character and title of the play from which your
monologue is sourced; as well as the name and source of the song used for your vocal audition;
(2) A one minute monologue to showcase your comedic ability; and
(3) 32 bars of a song of your own choice that best shows your vocal range.
Please send an email to info@sandyspringtheatregroup.org including:
(1) Your headshot and Resume (if available); and
(2) A YouTube link to your audition video
Note that if you are unable to post a video to YouTube, please indicate this in your
message and we will provide alternate submission information
Performance Dates
Three weekends, March 4 - 20 (9 performances) at the Gaithersburg Arts Barn,
311 Kent Square Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20878

Based on the Gospel according to St Matthew Godspell recounts the last days of Jesus, and includes dramatized versions of several well-known parables. And yet it is something more - a religious experience, a demonstration of joy, and a celebration of the family of man. The cast are conceived as clowns, improvising scenery and costumes, and using many well-known theatrical devices, pantomime vaudeville and varied musical styles to interpret one of humanity's greatest events.
Information For Auditioners
There are ten characters, all singing roles with elements of movement.
All roles, described below, are open and unpaid. EVERYONE is welcome to audition
.
Auditions will consist of a vocal audition, a monologue and some movement.
Please prepare a one minute monologue to showcase your comedic ability and
32 bars of a song of your own choice that best shows your vocal range.
You should also come prepared to move.
Piano accompaniment will be available or you may sing a capella.
Please bring a headshot/resume (if you have one).
COVID-19 NOTICE
All performers must be fully vaccinated and must show proof of vaccination at time of auditions. Owing to the
nature of the production and performance space, there can be no exceptions or exemptions granted.
Masks will be required at all auditions and rehearsals. Rehearsals and performances will follow all federal, state, county,
and city COVID-19 mitigation protocols
